look at my chronological events of Day 1 after prelims
there was no morning for me today cos i woke up at 12 pm sharp ._.
when i woke up i didnt exactly rolled off my bed like i would on other days
i laid on my bed thinking: what should can i do today?
it looks like a simple question
but i really felt rather purposeless to wake up
it's being a long long time since i felt this way
anyway i literally rolled out from my bed and laid on the floor for a few minutes
and i checked my hp
i saw this message from fangyu asking if i wanna play bball at yewtee
and i went like 'phew' cos there's something i can do today

so i brushed my teeth and ate my breakfast as my lunch
caught a show and went to play bball
jq fy ly veron hy me n boon
(oh btw fy is a very good story teller, animated detailed and precise!
after playing we sat down, stoned and talked
just feels great to sit around with friends (:

you know when you have too much free time on hand
you start thinking about things again
today im gonna share about a video i saw from beiru's blog
this video is by Dr.Randy Pausch, a lecturer from Carnegie Mellon University, who was diagnosed with cancer and he gave a renowned lecture called 'Last lecture' a.k.a. 'Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams'
his optimism is surprises me and he doesnt entrench himself in self-pity
and he's pretty funny guy and captivating speaker

im gonna share some quotes from the this speech and another speech given by him too
some are pretty much common sense but it's rather true
go watch it if you have the time to
though it's pretty long but it's quite worth the time
probably after exams or something

'We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.'

'When you see yourself doing something badly and nobody’s bothering to tell you anymore, that’s a very bad place to be. Your critics are your ones telling you they still love you and care.'

'Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted.'

'The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They are there to keep out the other people.'

'Be willing to apologize. Proper apologies have three parts: 1 ) What I did was wrong. 2 ) I’m sorry that I hurt you. 3 ) How do I make it better? It’s the third part that people tend to forget…. Apologize when you screw up and focus on other people, not on yourself.'

'Luck is truly where preparation meets opportunity.'

'I probably got more from that dream [of playing professional football] and not accomplishing it than I got from any of the ones that I did accomplish.'

'Somebody said to me in the light of the numbers: Wow so you are really beating the Grim Reaper. And what i said about it without even thinking is, we dont beat the reaper by living longer, we beat the reaper by living well and living fully for the reaper will come for all of us. The question is what do we do between the time we're born and the time he shows up. Cos' when he shows up, it's too late to do all the things that you've always gonna kinda get around to.' (oh by the way the numbers refer to him outliving what his doctors say he would)
