just came back from collecting my ipod and lunch with eve!
yayness cos my ipod is back
so it means i can resume watching videos and listening to music already!
to me it's a must for army survival lol
and speaking of it brings me to many many points i wanna talk about
first thing first
pop break is short
and coming to an end soon
like REAL SOON zzz
whatever my posting im pretty sure i wont be very happy cos it will be army and not air force or navy
now im thinking whether i should have sign on for airforce or navy
someway or so it will be less chiong than army
cos it's more technical
but then again
the number of years for the sign on is quite a turn off
a BIG turn off actually
so here lies the choice of momentarily torture in exchange for shorter service and long term relaxation but having ur career sealed to being with mindef
i wont say being with mindef is undesirable
it just doesnt suit me at all, i guess?
sighh
so i'll just wait for my posting and whine again after that
anyway was msging calvin just now
only then did i realised he signed on as airforce officer and sg signed on as pilot
(oh this is also why i dawned upon this topic)
then it hit upon me that im actually very near life's junction
where the next decision i make is probably gonna shape the way i live the next 50 or 60 years, provided i do live for that long
but why do i say 'very near' instead of im actually AT life's junction?
cos the only thing between me and the crossroad is, ironically, the much hated ns
it's giving me time to think
but not much time though
zzz i didnt really felt this reality until like TODAY? o.o
and it doesnt really make it feel better when calvin has his plans more or less mapped out
sign on as c3.. secured SAS.. and a pretty attractive income during and after the course of studies
steady education steady job steady income zzz
im jealous!
im not jealous of the salary and the job(haha particularly not jealous of the job)
but rather jealous of the fact that there's planning! (oh and partly because his ns life will be much slacker physically LOL)
so that got me started on thinking about my future
before i even consider what i wanna be
i have to classify my own characteristics and what job i think would fit me
characteristics:
1.unpredictable mood
a)feels the intense need to socialise 90% of the time
b)feels the intense need to isolate myself from others the other 10% of the time
2.cant do without talking erm when im in 1(a)
3.love technological stuffs (like knowing the latest phones cameras music players even though i may not necessarily own them)
4.lazy and unmotivated unless there is a purpose (this can be reinforced by the effort i placed in studies and bball)
5.money-fuelled (while i always say and acknowledge that contention is bliss, i think i cant get enough of money. i mean who does? =P)
6.have pride in sense of achievement but equally discouraged by failures
7.ponders alot, in fact, too much over decisions regardless of importance (such as what food to eat o.o)
okay i cant think of any more possible job related characteristics of mine
so to fit point 1 and 2, the job i should have is probably smthing that involves talking to others, communicating information and convincing potential customers
that brings me to one job that anna told me the other day
financial consultant!
possible career option but i dont know what lies ahead but will keep it under my option cos it fits quite a few of the above things i need
other things i wanna be and i think would fit would be entrepreneur and jobs under financial sector!
but then again financial sector is super unsteady right now
haizz
so that's a problem
hope everything will be back by the time i graduate from uni :X
if u havent already think of what job u want to take on next time
it's probably the time to do so so that u can shape ur own path
to those who are still studying in sec school or jc
u maybe wondering why u r studying so hard to get good results
ya certainly it has no direct impact on ur future
with good results, what u r actually gained is not immediate benefits
but rather, u r gaining choices to ur future
important choices that u have to make next time
zzz i sound like a cranky old man again damn it
